Can I find civil engineering jobs in Canada, the US or the UK with my Iranian PhD degree?

There may be some apprehension in some markets due to cultural differences and country of origin. A friend of mine just earned his PhD in applied statistics here in the states. He is from Iran and had employment in less than 2 mos. Don’t know how much moving expenses you can get but you might want to sign up with a professional search company that specializes in skill set. State and federal jobs may be a good fit. What are your salary goals? Location needs?

Are you on LinkedIn or Monster? There are several other internet sites that you can search. How good are your written and verbal ENGLISH skills? I don’t want to sound negative but in certain jobs or locations, accents and cultural differences matter and I am afraid that our new president has not made acceptance of cultural diversity a strong suit for immigrants.
